At EMICON we know that there is a common problem among LC filter manufacturers who use coils that require tuning. The problem stems from using machines to wind these coils which usually results in windings that are too tight for tuning. If they are hand wound by inexperienced operators many times the windings are inconsistent with respect to their "looseness". Both of these options frequently result in higher costs since the tuning costs are inflated and tuning is the most expensive part in producing high precision LC filters.
